When you give to charity, you must realize that it is more to give to charity. You have to give to charity, study Torah, eat kosher, keep the Sabbath and over GDs laws and commandments, then GD will bless your every need. You have to do it all. You just can't give charity and not do all of what GD says. Do it all and watch how the blessings come in
Love GD and his laws all his laws no half stepping.

Excellent lecture very well spoken and explained.
- 3 Questions:
1) is giving 10% tzedakah to charities the same as giving 10% maaser to charities?
2) If we are giving 10% maaser tzedakah from our income before paying income taxes Vs somebody who gives 10% maaser tzedakah after paying income taxes, in essence is the person who gives before income tax giving more?
3) what if we receive gifts for example, sometimes parents send me groceries, this saves me money. Should i give 10% maaser tzedakah from cost that they spent?
Also, when I visit them they give me "spending money" (small amount) i don't want it but they insist. Should i give 10% maaser tzedakah from this?
Thank you for your time and energy in answering these questions.

So many questions Do you give 10% if you are in major credit card debt? Do you give 10% if your income is less than basic expenses and you are getting into more debt as it is? Are there any good prayers for money to come in ? My Mezuzos are borrowed ( my previous roommate said I can continue to use ), what’s the relationship in between tefilim , Mezuzos and parnasah ? Reply
What’s important is that the Lubavitcher Rebbe said kosher teffilen and Mezuzas help your parnassa. In my book “guardian of israel” I have many stories. Also even if you are in debt you should
Give tzedaka, it will bring blessings.

what if you are giving and giving. giving the tithe as well. but you are still lacking in the income department. Thank You HaShem for lack of income. Reply
Love it! I am a Muslim and I conform with every word you say, Rabbi. We even use same terms, we call it "Sadaqa" which is a type of charity. It is nonobligatory, limitless, and everybody can offer it. On the other hand, "Zakat" is an obligatory charity for wealthy and it is an annual 2.5% of the assets. We believe that both Sadaqa and zakat bring blessing to money, purify it, and multiplicate it many folds. The term "lending Allah" was also precisely mentioned in Quran! I just wonder how many beautiful things we do share, not only core beliefs but also their exact terms! Thank you, Rabbi! May God bless you! Reply
Amen! And may G-d bless you many times over. Reply
Tzedeka Thank you. I too am not Jewish (although somewhere in my ancestors there are Jewish women) but love the Jewish people and their land. I have not had a clear understanding of Tzedeka but now have practical understanding. Thank you. Reply
Thank you! Now that you understand it, give more and encourage others to give as well.
Blessings and success.

Inspiring, as always! And, as always, your talks generate questions. I wonder: If a professional agrees to perform services for a lesser fee than normal for clients who are not able to pay the normal fee when the services are urgently required for the benefit of the person and/or the person's family, does the difference between the normal fee and the reduced fee amount act as all to reduce what the professional must pay for the minimum amount of tzedaka?(Let's imagine the professional works by and supports himself with no other source of income - no spouse or parents - nothing much to liquidate, etc. In other words, the reduction of fee is truly 'felt' by the professional each and every time. Let's also imagine that if the professional had not been busy with the work involved here, he might have sooner tried to mount a different or second business or go into different area of same profession.) Any thoughts or direction where to read would be appreciated, if you have time. Thank you. Shalom Reply
Yes giving to a patient is Tzedakah Reply
This is one of the most important thing in my life that I can clearly say, I have a burning passion for. I use to be picked at for giving. Sometimes I didn't understand why I had to give. I literally would be so sad if I did not give. I was not born or raised in a Jewish home, but I have been so curious and in love with Jews. I won't go on and on but thank you for this segment. Reply
As always, thank you Rav Raskin. Slow and clear presentation with such encouraging thoughts, examples and guides how to be and do as a Jew in the daily world. May our Tfila and Tzdaka protect all of Israel and comfort the families of the five people massacred in the Beit Hacaneset in Yerushalaim. Reply

Giving up hope.
I have been unemployed for over 18 months now. I have almost no savings and far more debt. I give charity whenever I can as I live off the generous donations from my family. My parents, family and friends are too running out of money to help me. I never saw any reward for giving Tsedakah, however when I see someone in need I am always compelled to give something. If things keep up this way I will be homeless in a few months. Please pray for me.
I am a convert to Judaism. I am far from perfect but I try my best. I wonder if Hashem loves me. I am about to give up.

I am sorry things are tough. Do do have kosher teffilin and mezuzahs. Were they checked within the year.
Are you giving at least 10% to Tzedakah? Did you go to visit the Ohel?
Talk all of this over with your local chabad Rabbi. May you see G-D’s big blessings!
